Ralf Krauter is a professional science communicator and radio presenter working as an editor for ‘Forschung aktuell’, the daily science magazine aired by german public radio ‘Deutschlandfunk’. After having studied physics in Stuttgart, Freiburg and Brighton and achieving his diploma with distinction he joined the science department at Germany’s nationwide radio broadcaster as a trainee for science journalism. After four years of training on the job, he became a freelance science journalist and worked for various german-speaking radio stations, nationwide newspapers and magazines. For his reports and articles about science and technology Ralf Krauter has won several prestigious awards like the ‘Georg-von-Holtzbrinck Award for Science Journalism’. In 2013, he became part of the permanent editorial staff at ‘Deutschlandfunk’, where he regularly presents the daily science show and covers important scientific conferences as a reporter. Ralf Krauter also frequently works as an off-air-moderator for panel discussions and events related to science, technology and innovation. Besides, he is a professional trainer for science communication skills.
