Peter van Blyenburgh

President UVS International

Peter van Blyenburgh been involved with remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) since 1987. He is the founder of EuroUVS (1997), which changed its name to UVS International in 2000. It is an internationally operating non-profit association dedicated to promoting the safe use of RPAS and represents over 4700 companies in 35 countries. Mr Van Blyenburgh is in his 11th 2-year term as president of UVS International. He has participated, and is still participating, in ALL RPAS related regulatory activities initiated by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), European Commission, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Single European Sky ATM Research Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) and Joint Authorities on Rulemaking for Unmanned Systems (JARUS) Stakeholder Consultation Body (SCB).

Mr Van Blyenburgh is the CEO of Blyenburgh & Co, France, the instigator of the RPAS-related standards activities at EUROCAE (former WG73 & WG93) and participant in the European UAS Standards Coordination Group. He is the creator of the “Global Access Initiative” (GAI) and the International RPAS Coordination Council, which federates 24 national RPAS associations. He has instigated the creation of 14 national RPAS associations.

In 2017-18, he conducted a “Survey on Non-military Drone Operations”, which is the most extensive survey of its kind ever. He is editor & publisher of the annual reference publication: “RPAS: The Global Perspective”, the organizer of 2 annual RPAS conferences, and (within the context of the GAI) has given keynote addresses at more than 200 RPAS-related conferences in 28 countries.
