DroneMasters Founder & CEO

Frank Wernecke founded DroneMasters as a global cross-industry platform for vertical mobility and drones in 2015. DroneMasters operates through his DroneMasters Venture GmbH, a venture firm focussing on early-stage start-ups, and DroneMasters Boost, an incubator, which is run by his digital GmbH.

DroneMasters Boost provides consulting services to startups, corporates, and authorities. As a network booster. DroneMasters links stakeholders from business, science, civil society, culture, sports, authorities, and politics across traditional sectoral boundaries to shape the development of vertical mobility. With meetups and conferences, DroneMasters has connected more than 4,000 drone experts and enthusiasts across Europe, North America, and Africa. By promoting sports as a driver of technological development, Frank Wernecke continuously drives the ecosystem - DroneMasters challenges and events reached up to 100,000 visitors. The Dronathon, a marathon for industrial drones initiated by Frank Wernecke, has just been officially recognized by the World Air Sports Organisation FAI in Lausanne.

His main concern is the acceleration of change. For more than 20 years he has been working at the crossroads of digitization, sustainability, and communications. At the age of 26, he founded his first company. He is the founder of the bettermap foundation, a non-profit foundation to localize Points of Social Impact, member of the research group Ethical-Ecological Rating at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, partner of the steering committee of TEDxBerlin and also founding partner of the entrepreneur network katapult: NOW.

He lives in Berlin, is married to a lawyer, father of three children and likes to run marathons.
